ROYCE' Chocolates Bryant Park Pop-Up Shop

When you get a message that there are chocolate covered potato chips for sale just five blocks away from your current location, you stop what you're doing and run in that direction.  That's how it went for me yesterday and sure my cholesterol might be higher, but I'm so much happier.  Let me tell you, this isn't my first time enjoying the wonders that are ROYCE's Potatochip Chocolate, but it is the first time I've had the luxury of purchasing them in my own city- and that's pretty exciting.

ROYCE' is a Japanese chocolate company from Sapporo (yes, the beer). They've been around for about 30 years and they've just taken their first leap into the New York food scene opening a flagship store on Madison Avenue with plans for more stores.  Currently, they have a pop-up shop on 40th street right below Bryant Park and they'll be occupying the storefront next door.

The Bryant Park ROYCE' Chocolate pop-up offers everything a chocolate lover could ask for, with the added bonus of pretty Japanese packaging and cute individually wrapped samples.  They of course have boxes of the Potatochip Chocolate, but they also have Popcorn Chocolate and good ol' fashioned chocolate bars.  If you want something a bit more luxurious, their Nama Chocolate is like a dense fudge truffle (which makes no sense when I type it but tastes oh-so-good when you eat it.)

Check out more photos below and make sure to stop by their shops at either 40th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues or at Madison Avenue at 53rd Street. Happy snacking!
