First timer here, cozy decor with weird services. All meats with the same sauce, nothing is special. We ordered corn chowder (salty), bbq combo, dried pulled pork & chewy beef brisket (menu price $18.95 but we got charged $20.95). We didn't bother to argue for price differences between their menu and the bill since we don't plan to come back.
PS. No refills for tea. And while we just started to eat our meals, the waitress asked if we would like to order any desserts...kinda odd for me since we just had two bites of foods and we were there at 5pm.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hannah S.Forestdale, MA1414453Jan 18, 2021
Stopped by for a drink & lunch - Mac n cheese bites were alright. The sampler not on the menu was delicious. A couple types of ribs, & brisket. Coleslaw, beans, & fries.
French dip sandwich was alright, I'd recommend having something BBQ instead lolHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bert D.Dublin, OH1244Jun 22, 2021
We are from out of town and needed food and with very limited options, this seemed like a 'decent' place to order.
Our call was answered by Gerry (later found was the owner/partner). I should have hung up and decided to not order when I heard how rude someone can be on the phone. But giving the benefit of the doubt I pressed on with my order
3 Burger Platters (ordered 3 first, to be told, they have only 2 burgers left, so we ordered 2, medium
1 pulled pork sandwich
1 grilled chicken sandwich
and Macaroni Cheese Bites
We asked Gerry what does it come with and what she said sounded like "slowmeanspickle". Gerry, when a customer begs your pardon and asks you to please restate, saying it the same way is NOT helpful. Then telling them they need to continue with the order quickly as you have customers waiting, is not very customer focused. Again, should have canceled and moved on, but I pressed on.
30 minutes. Cool! So I ended up a the place. the restaurant itself looked quaint in a good way and I was met with Cheryl the waitress (the brightest spot of this event) who greeted me and asked the name on the order. She then went on to take my payment (note: 15% gratuity was already added. Whoopie! Must be for the great food and the "slowmeanspickle" right?)
Saw someone sitting near the bar, with his feet up on chairs watching TV. Learned later, it was Conrad. Guess its his restaurant and he gives a "$#$%" what his customers think of his demeanor. Also, there were 2 tables occupied with a total of 4 customers. Gerry, I thought you were swamped! Tsk, Tsk!
Well, $75 later and 5 of food, headed back to the hotel to eat.
a) No plastic ware packed or even asked
b) Burgers which were to be medium, were BURNT, literally, black! Needless to say, half could be salvaged and the other half was thrown away. So much for medium and 30 minutes to cook them like an artist
c) Grilled chicken was blah
d) Pulled pork, good sauce, but see, if the top layer has enough and the bottom is dry, well, defeats the purpose
e) Macaroni Cheese bites were 3 large balls, which were amazing to taste
To the owners, I am surprised you guys actually run a "business". Your food left a lot to be desired, but you as a restaurant failed yourselves miserably!
Needless to say, if I am ever in this area again, I will ensure that I set a reminder never to visit you again, EVER!
BTW: We later deciphered what was being told to us when Gerry said "slowmeanspickle" (and I am still not sure I am right), but we guess she was trying to say "slaw, baked beans and pickle" SMHHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ashley F.New Britain, CT52060Jul 21, 2021
The food here is phenomenal! I'm very confused as to the horrible reviews. The only negative that I've read which is slightly accurate is concerning the service being extremely slow. The portions are gigantic, the ribs fall off of the bone. The pulled pork nachos are to die for! The prices are great also.

Around the mountain you're just going to end up paying a lot more than you really want to. It's just the nature of the mountain business. I get it. But what I do appreciate is that this restaurant really had tasty food. We ordered the pickle chips and they were so good! I ended up getting the BBQ sampler that came with pulled pork, 2 kinds of ribs, brisket and chicken. While I would personally get the sauce on the side next time, the meat was tender and very well done. My boyfriend got the ribeye and although it was a very simple meal, it was also done very well. You can tell that they take a lot of pride in their food and they've been around for a long time. My biggest complaint was the slow service. Our waitress was extremely sweet and apologetic. She probably apologized at least 10 times during our 2 hours there.

I came here with a group of 9 and we all had a great time. We shared a bunch of apps and I ordered a half rack of baby back ribs while my friend ordered a half rack of St. Louis ribs for the two of us to share.
The apps are ALL SO GOOD. We ordered the following:
stuffed jalapeno peppers
pierogis
fried pickle chips
fried duck - i think this was a special that they had.. but it was by far THE BEST THING i ate the entire meal. the duck was perfectly crispy and the zingy asian sauce that came with it was BOMBBBB.
Both the baby back and St. Louis ribs were so tender that the meat fell off the bone as soon as you pick it up with a fork. The mashed potatoes that came with it was also delicious, and they gave us a huge tub of free coleslaw for the table to share and even THAT was amazing.
Highly recommend visiting this restaurant after a long day of snowboarding/skiing! Perfect way to end a tiring day :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - BB Q.Worcester, MA1184966May 29, 2019
This is mainly based on the fact that this restaurant comes off as some kind of BBQ haven, and unfortunately it isn't.
I'll be fair. This is way out of the way on Killington ski country. There are times of the year this area is almost a ghost town. So not exactly the best place for me to be thinking a great authentic BBQ Pit might be. If you couldn't tell from my name, I'm on the hunt for the best BBQ spots in New England. As a restaurant this place has a good atmosphere and the food seems reasonable, if anything it's a good Pit stop if your traveling and might very well be your only option for BBQ in the ski season.
Well the big smoker tank with the painted pig on it got the hype real for me! But I'm sorry. A place that doesn't offer a regular slices of brisket and ribs until their dinner menu is served can't be trusted. They accommodated me and got the brisket and ribs some I thank them for that. But the brisket was chopped, and slathered with sauce. Again, being fair, they might have good reason for doing this, and I fully understand that not many people would have a problem with that. But that's just not the right way to serve it. As far as taste goes, I honestly thought it was pulled pork at first. Nothing great.
I got the babyback ribs. Again, slathered in sauce and sprinkled with some diced parsley or something for whatever reason. Again! BBQ Reviewer Here! Most BBQ places cut the ribs for you but these guys left it to me which is fine. But I couldn't cut the ribs. The meat just didn't want to cooperate. Babyback tends to be a little different, this was easier to eat by forking the meat off the bones. Should have gone with St. Louis style. Points for being one of the few places around that even offers a choice. Quality was good for what it was.
The coleslaw is embarrassing to say the least. Shredded cabbage in pickled mayonnaise. Don't get it
The baked beans are actually some of the best I've ever had. Just the right darkness and sweet molasses flavor and stewed onions. Damn near perfect.
But it was pretty pricey. In comparison anyway. Can't really blame them though I guess. Not exactly living in the middle of a bustling community.
The 2 stars is reflective of their true "BBQ"-ness and their bathrooms could have been cleaner, and arranged differently. Men's urinal is facing the wall right next to the door, you walk in and feel like a guy might as well be pissing on your leg.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 8, 2017
What a perfect spot for after a day of riding. Beat tracks away from the crowded spots in Killington and head down here. Excellent apps/starters pretty good selection of beer on tap, a killer Bloody Mary and great Irish coffee.
Pulled pork nachos are something special and the dry rub wings are hot and sweet, plus the tomato salad/garnish has some serious heat.
Crowd is locals and a couple of us friendly tourists, but bartender keeps everyone feeling like a regular.
This spot was so good we hit it two days in a row.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matt C.Hartford, CT2285447Jul 5, 2021
Best to pass on this spot. To start off, the restaurant was pretty empty and it still took like 10-15 minutes to get seated. We order our food at about 545, and after seeing tables around us who showed up half an hour later get served, we were told they forgot our order. I got the chicken and ribs combo- chicken was ok, the ribs were not. Flavor was ok but they were a mushy mess- not how ribs should be. I knew I'd be rolling the dice getting barbecue in VT, but this place does it exceptionally bad. Only redeeming quality is the server was at least very nice and owned up to her mistake in forgetting to put our order in. Hard pass.
