I breastfeed my husband to spend more quality time together — our marriage is stronger than ever

Mom-of-three, Rachel Bailey, 30, first breastfed her husband, Alexander, also 30, in 2016 and the couple haven’t looked back since.

While it started as a way of Alexander helping out his wife when she was over-lactating while nursing their kids, the pair found it to be an amazing bonding experience that they believe has made their marriage stronger than ever.

Feeding the family… everyone in the family!

Rachel, from Florida, has always made sure that her babies are fed first before Alexander finishes the remaining milk, and the habit came about as a pure accident.

“When my eldest child, Troy, now seven, was breastfeeding, I went away on a cruise with Alexander,” she said.

“However, I forgot my breast pump and was badly engorged for two days. I was in so much pain and I was scared about getting an infection, so we decided that my husband was going to try drinking the milk to relieve me.

The couple were aware that what they were doing wouldn’t sit well with many, but continued regardless.

“We were nervous about the idea of him breastfeeding from me as we thought it seemed weird, but as soon as we did it, we realized it was perfectly fine,” the mom shared.

“Alexander said that the milk was really different to how he expected it to taste, compared to the normal milk he was used to drinking.”

A nutritional boost for dad

While the milk tasted different, Rachel knew she was giving her hubby a great boost of nutrients as well as spend quality time together.

“We realised there was nothing wrong with me breastfeeding him, and it would actually be good for him as it is so nutritious,” she revealed.

“He didn’t get a cold for two years after he started drinking my milk and so many people said his skin was so much better too.

“He ended up loving the taste of my breast milk and even prefers it to cow’s milk now.”

Despite people’s reactions, Rachel insists there’s nothing kinky about what they’re doing.

“It’s not a kink for us. It started as Alexander just helping me out when I was in pain, but it turned into more of an emotional bonding thing.

“I love breastfeeding him as it allows us to spend quality time together. It’s definitely brought us closer as a couple,” she shared.

How it all started

When she fell pregnant again for the second and third time with her two younger kids, Aria, six, and Matthew, two, she’d begin over-lactating again and Alexander was on hand to gladly help her out.

She would breastfeed her husband at breakfast, lunch and dinner, but as she is now producing less milk, she is only breastfeeding him at night.

She added: “It’s funny because if I eat something spicy, it also gives Alexander gas too.”

“Shortly after giving birth, when I was producing the most milk, Alexander was drinking my milk three to four times a day,” Rachel recalls.

“Obviously the babies are always fed first before it’s his turn. He would spend about five to ten minutes on each boob.

“It’s a bit of a taboo subject, but we wanted to share it because we don’t think it’s bad and we aren’t ashamed. It was an instant relief when Alexander latched on, and it stopped me from being in pain.”

On top of that, it has also created a more special bond between the couple.

“It’s such a nice experience and I am so glad we started doing it. We aren’t embarrassed about it at all,” she said.

“Alexander felt so much more energised when he was drinking my milk and he said that he even felt in a state of medication while he was latched on.

“It was really special and brought us closer than ever before.”
