One lucky fan of Sex and the City can get their hands on famous piece of Carrie Bradshaw’s fabulous wardrobe.

The tiered tutu worn by Carrie in the series’ opening credits is hitting auction on Jan. 11, as Julien’s Auctions plans to auction off pieces worn by stars like Sarah Jessica Parker, Princess Diana, Whitney Houston and Kim Kardashian

Fans of the show will remember the opening credits, which feature Carrie strutting down the Manhattan street in style — only to get soaked by a bus. While the white tutu has become an iconic symbol of Carrie’s funky style, the tutu almost didn’t make the cut.

In 2018, SATC creator Darren Star told Entertainment Weekly that Carrie almost wore a Marc Jacobs runway dress (originally worn by Kate Moss) in the opening credits. In the end, Star and Parker convinced the producers to stick with the tutu.

“It was such a brilliant choice because, in a way, Carrie’s dancing through her life in New York,” Star told EW

Carrie later wore the tutu in the Sex and the City movie, when Carrie cleans out her closet with the help of Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda.

The tutu was discovered by costume designer Patricia Field, who found the piece in a five-dollar bin while shopping in New York’s garment district.

Also up for auction is the dress worn by Carrie in the season 3 episode where she has lunch with Big’s wife Natasha. As Natasha confronts Carrie about her affair with Big, she wears a chiffon newsprint gown by John Galliano for Christian Dior.

Emulations of the dress have since been worn by stars like Ashley Graham and Emily Ratajkowski.
