Palitaw is a native and popular rice cake or "kakanin" of Filipinos. This rice cake is made up of malagkit or sticky rice that is washed and soak with water and then grounded or pounded. Preparing this kakanin is so easy. We just need the following ingredients.

• commercial malagkit rice or you can use a glutinous rice flour.
• sugar
• coconut flakes
• water

So here is the steps in preparing palitaw.

First, mix the malagkit flour with small amount of water.
While mixing, prepare on the other side a casserole of hot or boiling water or use the rice cooker.

Second, get a small amount of mixture and mold it to flat round.

Put the rounded mixture of malagkit into the casserole.

The mixture will immediately sink and when it is cook already it will float.

You're welcome @soulbella. It's so easy try to make some at home. 😊

Palitaw is one of my favorite kakanins! Thank you for sharing this! I'd definitely want to try making my own at home. I never knew they were quite easy and fast to make. May I know what brand and where you get the malagkit rice or the glutious rice flour?

Yeah, just that quick. Actually it's my older sister who bought the ingredients at the department store. I forgot the brand name, but I'll try to look for its plastic container tomorrow to see the brand name. You can just visit the department store and look for rice flour or glutinous rice flour.

All right, I see! Will definitely try looking for it. :) Thanks so much!

Never thought it would be this easy to prepare. Will definitely try this at home! Thanks for sharing
