Nightmares
Things of your nightmares and surreal encounters.
This is the first subject that came to mind that I was fully interested in following through with and enthusiastic about developing. When I think of nightmares I see the typical ghosts and monsters under the bed or in the closet, the boogie man, vampires even though they have been idolised in the media, and the fear of death.

Monsters under the bed
Artists
I Looked up a few artists who include horror into their images and I managed to find a few that I thought were very inspirational.
Larry Alan
Alan created a series of photos that depicts his interpretation of the story Hamlet with his lover Ophelia
He also has another series called the man with no face. It's about a woman who mutilates a man's face and he comes back for his revenge.
Joshua Hoffine
Hoffine's work is very expressive and he puts a lot of effort into the composition of his work. Although it is clearly staged there is a rawness to his work. It is very graphic and his ideas are blatant.
Paolo Roversi
I look at Paolo Roversi’s work and see dark tormented images. His work is almost timeless. His has a distinct style that remains constant throughout his work. There is a vintage feel to his work. There is an eerie feel to photographs with gives it a haunted feel to them.
Steven Meisel
Meisel did a series of photographs which focused on domestic violence. Which is a real life horror that many women and men go through. In his photographs he manages to put the focus on the fear and pain that the women are subjected to. The aggressor is always seen to let the viewer know of their prominence.
Eolo Perfido
Perfido has less of a horror aspect to his work but more of a political point of view that he has made to seem very creepy and unnatural. This work is called Propaganda and it’s to do with the American government and no matter how different everyone is they are under control and have to act and think a certain way in accordance to the law.
