Balanga City was my home until I was a 5 year old kid. After almost two decades, I am exploring Balanga City for two days. Here are our Top 10 Things To Do in Balanga City, Bataan, Philippines!

1.) Staycation

2.) Plaza Mayor

Plaza Mayor is flocked by tourists due to the Europe vibe it gives. The plaza is surrounded by facades inspired by the Spanish Colonial Architecture. It is adjacent to Balanga City Hall, The Plaza Hotel, Centre Plaza Mall and just across to the historic 18th Century Balanga Cathedral. (Swipe below photo for more pictures)

3.) Balanga Cathedral

The Balanga Cathedral, also known as Cathedral Shrine Parish of Saint Joseph and previously known as Church of Balanga is one of the famous historical and religious sites in Balanga City. This Cathedral is almost 230 years old. Imagine during the death march of World War II, many prisoners of war have passed by this church, what could have been the feeling that time? 4.) Death March KM44 marker

The Death March is a forced march of the prisoners of war in which they were left to die along the way. The Death March KM44 marker is located in front of the Balanga Cathedral. What was the feeling of the dying soldiers that time when they passed by this church? (Swipe below photo for more pictures)

5.) Bataan WWII Museum

Balanga Elementary School houses the Bataan World War II Museum. At a small entrance fee, you can get a glance of some World War II memorabilia on the first floor while you can check on the second floor the memorabilia of the former first lady from Balanga, Mrs. Luz Banzon Magsaysay. 6.) Buy Smoked Bangus

Balanga City is famous for their Smoked Bangus (Smoked Milkfish). Make sure to buy pasalubong for your lovedones. (Swipe below photo for more pictures)

7.) Visit Some of the Famous Cafes/ Restaurants

Some of the top restaurants recommended by some of Balanga City’s locals are The Beanery, Hungry Asian, Natalia Cafe and Plaza Brew. (Swipe below photo for more pictures)

8.) Revisit Some of your Personal Memories about Balanga

10.) SM Central Terminal
