Early Pick up at your hotel at Pto Ordaz and ground transfer to La Gran Sabana, Canaima National Park . You will drive through cattle ranches and mining town until reaching La escalera where you will drive up to 1400 meters and reach La Gran Sabana. Accommodations at rustic lodge in the indigenous village San Francisco de Yuruani. Trek briefing with your guide. 1300 m.(B,L,D)

After breakfast you board a 4WD vehicle and go off road to the Indian community of Paraitepui. Directly ahead of us is the massive, symmetrical bulk of Mount Roraima. Begin trekking followed by our Indian porters. Today we sleep in tents at Tek River. (B,L,D)

Begin the Trek crossing Tek river and a hour later Kukenam river. Continue following the long incline that leads gradually uphill to the base of Roraima vertical, 2,000 foot cliffs. Basecamp is located at the foot of Roraima spectacular walls. Here we have breathtaking views of the savannah rolling away into the distance as well as the splendid rose-colored cliffs rising straight up above us toward the mountain’s flat summit. Tents (B,L,D)

Today’s ascent follows a natural ledge along the cliff face, allowing the only non-technical access to the summit. This route passes through steep, jungle-like terrain that requires good stamina but no climbing skills. After 5 hours, we suddenly arrive to the summit gazing at the strange, fascinating landscape. Our tents are pitched in natural caves that provide shelter from wind and rain. Tents. (B,L,D)

Full day to explore the fantasy land atop Roraima’s mysterious summit. The eroding forces of constant wind and rain have formed giant stone sculptures; house-sized slabs balanced precariously on slender spires; the arches and pillars of a forgotten Lost World . Tents. (B,L,D)

Last morning to enjoy the summit. Maybe a last encounter with the Roraima endemic frog or a carnivorous plant before we begin our return down through the cloud-forest. After lunch and a refreshing dip in the stream below the campsite, we continue to Kukenan River and camp at Rio Tek. Tents. (B,L,D)

Continue Trek to Paraitepui where our vehicle awaits with cold beer and sodas. We board the vehicle and take final looks toward Roraima summit, remembering the bizarre rock formations and unique flora and fauna we discovered. Stop for lunch at Yuruani where you should have opportunities to purchase some of the woven baskets, backpacks, fishing bows, arrows, and other local crafts. Accommodations at Yuruani lodge. (B,L,D)
