2019 Fellow
CEAE

Sung Min Kim will graduate from Cornell University with a degree in Environmental Engineering where she worked wtih AguaClara, a multidisciplinary program that designs drinking water treatment systems. She was also a researcher in the Reed group where she developed her passion on providing access to clean water and mitigating climate change impacts. Through summer internships in Tokyo and at NCAR, she developed an appreciation for the intrinsic complications in modeling and plans to examine water resources systems, infrastructure and power systems for better management in her doctoral research.  As she begins her PhD in Civil Engineering in Fall 2019 with a focus on Civils Systems, she hopes to use her research-driven passion to examine water resources and energy systems and how advanced tools such as MOEA and MOVA can improve our understanding and management of complex engineered systems. Sung Min is funded through the GAANN fellowship program for revitalizing U.S. infrastructure, as well as a graduate fellowship from the Water-Energy Nexus Interdisciplinary Research Theme at CU Boulder.
