Binibining Pilipinas held its Grand Santacruzan on May 14 at the Araneta Center. This year’s 40 candidates walked in the colorful procession along with the reigning 2021 queens and Miss International 2005 Lara Quigaman. She had the opportunity to wear her Miss International 2005 crown to the event!
Writing about her experience, Lara said she has "many things to be grateful for" as she got to see some of her old friends and make new ones. She wrote, "Had a great day with my panganay who was also a part of today's Araneta Grand Santacruzan." She also thanked the people who watched and waved hello.
According to Lara, the crown she wore to the Santacruzan was a replica of the original Miss International crown that she wore.
Aside from the crown, Lara wore a stunning Filipiniana terno designed by Paul Tenorio. The designer wrote in an Instagram post: "The very first Filipiniana terno I made as a start-up fashion designer 10 years ago, worn by my very first International Beauty Queen model."
Lara shared in a separate post: "10 years ago, I was the Reyna Elena in Araneta's Grand Santacruzan. I was pregnant with @noahalcaraz then."
Noah is Lara's eldest son with actor Marco Alcaraz. Lara added that her son also joined the Santacruzan as he escorted Reyna Elena and current Bb. Pilipinas International Hannah Arnold. The reigning beauty queen shared in a post, "Will forever cherish this day as I got to experience it with Noah by my side, the son of Miss Precious Lara Quigaman, our Miss International 2005. Thank you for being such a kind and joyous gentleman, Noah."
