About this product

Product Information

Designed as a laptop friendly version of The Sims 2, Sims: Life Stories features a slimmed down "freeplay" version of the second edition plus two storylines following a couple of Sims named Riley and Vince as they grow up and experience life as a Sim. The game also includes an auto pause feature allowing players to stop and resume gameplay by simply opening or closing their laptop. There are several shortcuts and gamers can also instant message, e-mail, and chat with friends in separate windows while playing Sims: Life Stories. In the classic "freeplay" mode players can create their own characters, build their dream home, and unlock rewards by resolving hidden goals.

  • Sims Life Stories for Laptops Lives Up to Predecessors

EA's laptop version of their wildly popular Sims series holds up well compared to previous releases aimed at desktops. The graphics, while not crystal clear, are sharp enough and the gameplay is comparable to previous versions. Zooming in and out via keyboard controls takes some adjustment, but in the end is more accurate than mouse-driven navigation. The plotlines of the two life stories players can experience (one male, one female) are fairly linear, but free play is an option as well. Do not expect all the building and customization features of the more memory-heavy desktop versions, but The Sims: Life Stories is a fun distraction you can take with you on your laptop that will evaporate huge chunks of your free time before you know it.

  • Great Game

I had some reluctancy about this game because it's seperate from the expanision packs but soon found out that I had nothing to worry about. It's a great game lots of fun. My only complaint is that in the Sims 2 games you can use your mouse to scroll left right up and down so you can view the entire home/scene where your sim is. In this game you cannot or atleast I couldn't you have to make your sim walk to a spot and then use the panoramic buttons on the left hand size of the screen. OVerall though this is a fun game.

  • Love the game!

I love the fact that you only need to install one disk to play the game and even tho they tell you that you can't add custom content, you can add some. I love the new wall papers and floors and the fact that you no longer have to garden. The Sims look at the flowers and state how pretty they are. I liked the stories, I thought they were funny. They give you more money to build in free mode. I like playiing in a small window. I few things I don't like about the game is you only have one neighborhood that you can play in free mode, you can't have cars, and I don't like the control buttons that they have. Over all I love the game for a quick fix of The Sims.

  • It's the Sims 2 - With A Story

As a fan of the Sims 2, I hoped I would like the spin-off 'Life Stories' games. I was hoping it would be a more story orientated game along the lines of the Playstation 2 game, 'The Sims 2; Busting Out.' However, Life Stories both is and isn't. Firstly, the stories within Life Stories are flimsy at best. It took me a day to finish both of them. After that, the game becomes a watered down version of the open-ended 'The Sims 2' but without the bells and whistles of custom content or expansion packs. Because of this, the stories being so bare bones is a let down. This is the main drawcard of the game, and once beaten, the game offers nothing else. There is no real sense of decision in the game, rather, things happen whether you want them to, or not. You ...
