The best foot spas to soak your tootsies in and achieve a salon-level pedicure from your own home
These days it’s hard to get an appointment at your fave nail salon, let alone actually get there for a pedicure. It seems we all have such busy social calendars and work schedules that self care (in the name of looking after our feet) has been put on the back burner a bit.
After a year and a half of taking our #selfcare routines very seriously (daily face masks, painting our nails and giving ourselves at-home blow dries with the best hair dryers), we’ve begun prioritising other things such as seeing loved ones on the reg and going back into the office a few times a month. Subsequently, this means we’ve all forgotten just how good metaphorically putting our feet up is. Enter: the foot spa.
Though nothing will ever beat a salon quality treatment (I know I can never achieve the same neatness when applying polish), sometimes an at-home job just has to suffice. The best part about getting a pedicure, though, has got to be soaking your tootsies in that mini jacuzzi - so how do you replicate that feeling from your own abode? With the best foot spa, of course.
Foot spas are small enough to move from room to room (they’re sans the massaging chair you get at most salons, unfortunately, so your office chair or armchair may have to do). Some even allow for temperature control, incorporate bubbles or provide a soothing massage. I feel relaxed already - all I need is a face mask, book and bath towel and I’m set.
Are foot spas worth the money?
If you’re someone who enjoys a spa treatment now and again - who doesn’t? - then yes, a foot spa is certainly worth the money. In the long run, an expensive one-off purchase will pay for itself in terms of how much you’ll save by not going to the salon or spa as regularly. There are definitely cheaper options on the market if you don’t want to dip into the hundreds, but if you want one with all the trimmings (or one that does more than just soak your feet in warm water) then you’ll need to invest.
