Wife Jinkee pays tribute to Manny Pacquiao as he hangs up boxing gloves for good

Jinkee Pacquiao paid tribute to her husband and boxing legend Manny Pacquiao after he announced his retirement on Wednesday.

In an Instagram post, Jinkee, who has been married to Manny for more than 20 years now, said she could not help but take a trip down memory lane upon watching the retirement video of the boxing icon.

Jinkee reminisced about all the nerves of having to watch her husband slug it out in the ring. She also lauded Manny for weathering all the challenges in his colorful career.

"After watching your Goobye Boxing video, naalala ko gaano ako nag-aalala on each and every one of your fights, especially kapag malaki at matangkad ang nakakalaban mo," said Jinkee in a heartfelt post.

["After watching your Goodbye Boxing video, I remembered how much I worried on each and every one of your fights, especially when your opponent is big and tall."]

"But you were always full of faith and faced your opponents with courage," she added.

Jinkee said she thanks the Lord every day for keeping her husband safe and blessing him with success in his career.

"Babe, we are always and forever here by your side. I love you," she said.

Manny, who also holds a Senate seat, formalized his boxing retirement in a 14-minute video.

"As I hang up my boxing gloves, I would like to thank the world, especially the Filipino people for supporting Manny Pacquiao. Goodbye, boxing," said Pacquiao, who ended his career with a 62-8-2 win-loss-draw record.

"I will never forget what I have done and accomplished in my life. I just heard the final bell, I am done with boxing."

This came shortly after he accepted the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino - Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) nomination to be the party's presidential candidate in the upcoming 2022 national elections.
