The Boogeyman

Rate this book
We’re in enemy territory. I have days to fix this or it’s war.

Things aren’t totally what they seem in the Seelie Court. Not everyone here is my enemy. Even people I thought were five minutes ago are actually on my side. This is really a wake-up call about judging an entire realm because their prince is awful and their king is an idiot.

Alastair is on the run with my dad and Brock is rotting in a cell back on. The sharks are circling in the Seelie Court. A lot of them would see themselves on the throne and some of them don’t care about getting my father safely back. In fact, I think a few of them are hoping Alastair kills him and takes care of all of us because they want war with the Unseelie Kingdom.

So while we are here, I have to rescue my father, get my revenge on Alastair, stop a war a small minority wants, and help the Red Queen change the Seelie Realm to what the majority wants.

Easy, right?

USA Today Bestselling Author JB Trepagnier is a huge liar. She first started lying as a child when someone asked who colored on the walls. She later went on to major in art, so they really should have framed it instead of sending her to the principals office so many times. When she was fourteen, she wrote a very large lie into several notebooks, which later became her first book, Midnight's Sonata. Rather than dabbling in politics and possibly ending up in jail for lying when it counts or under oath, JB chooses to craft elaborate lies into word documents and use them for entertainment rather than harm because she is really batman, just without all the money to fight crime

DNF @58% p125/216 Chapter 26(Reagan)
I’m just bored, y’all.
🤷🏻‍♀️
There’s a lot of rambling and repeating and just taking too long with things that I don’t care about.
I’m over it.
I was waiting for the sex scenes to spice it up and make it worth it, but we got one and it just wasn’t enough for me.

Honestly, I’m just surprised I got to the last book of a trilogy. Usually I bail halfway into the second book. Lol go me.

OMG!!! What an ending to an epic series. The crew is back in Fae and it’s high time Alastair gets what he’s truly due. That idiot dared kidnap the Unseelie king. How stupid can you get. Our girl Reagan is a flipping Phoenix!

This one has the awesome cast of characters of Books 1 and 2 and sooo many more. We will see creatures that are so cool and have amazing powers. The times be changing….

I loved everything about this one. The characters. I laughed. I cried. I am sad it’s over, but it was a great experience. We even see our girl in the future. Enjoy every minute.

The Monsters Under My Bed trilogy wraps up with The Boogeyman. This book was awesome, a sassy mfc, loveable monsters, coups, kidnappings, and more, all of it with Trepagnier's trademark humor.

Reagan is adjusting to being a phoenix, she has her moments, having to remember that she is actually a fae with powers. I love that Reagan has her sassy attitude, knowing she's powerful but also recognizing that she has so much further to go due to her kidnapping. Other than that she's going with what she feels is right and she's doing a pretty good job even if she doesn't think so.

Omg, I forgot what a hoot Finnan is. Seriously his antics add a fun light-heartedness to the story. The hobgoblin has a softer side and shows it in this one. Cyrus and Oisin are the same, a tight group with Finn all of them adoring and loving Reagan with all that they are. I love that they don't hinder her by trying to protect her, she's able to be her own person with them.

I love Trepagnier's twist on the fae, even more examples of their culture and the different varieties of fae (both Seelie and Unseelie) are represented. The story was great, Alastair is even more unhinged than ever before with dangerous plot after dangerous plot and a couple of reveals. I got a better understanding of the Seelie family tree, who was connected to who, and their role in the revolution. Turns out not all of Alastair's relatives are crap, Cade was the biggest surprise I actually like him, he's not what I thought.

I knew I was going to love this book and Trepagnier didn't disappoint. The Boogeyman wrapped up Reagan and her guys' story nicely in a whirlwind of chaos. The bad guys crying, boss ladies handling their business and the start of a revolution, all of it laced with humor. The fae world is really cool, I would love to read more stories that take place there.

Our heroine has more allies than she anticipated, which is going to be very important as she has a lot on her plate right now. Small things like rescuing her dad, stopping the bad guy and preventing a war. Yeah, she is going to need that help.

This is book three of the series and its conclusion. I do not recommend starting here.

This is a paranormal romance with a reverse harem thing going on. The story is well written, easy to read and full of action. Since this is the last book, there is a lot going on here which keeps things moving at a fast pace. Overall, another great series from our author and I look forward to the next creation.

Highly recommended.

This is book three and the conclusion to the Monsters Under My bed series. It’s a paranormal reverse harem romance. The twists and unexpected turns keep you reading and turning the pages. The world building is detailed and imaginative. It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention. This book has strong, well-developed characters, an interesting story line full of suspense, danger, action, mystery, unexpected twists, passion, and a satisfying conclusion to a fun series. Good Series Ender

I enjoyed the plot of the story. I felt that the fmc did have the weight of their problems on her shoulders but it didn’t feel like it was truly burdensome. Her guys, her new friends all had her back and took charge when it was timed for their elemental powers to shine. They always had a plan. I did enjoy the multiple povs. I found there was a ton of filler chapters going on. Lots of re explaining the same thing but in a different point of view. Which is why I rated it 4*. Otherwise I enjoyed this book and the series.

Felt really rushed and unfortunately had a lot of grammatical and punctuation errors. I looked past a lot of the errors but the ending was very rushed and very anticlimactic. Was not a fan of this as much as the others. I'm very surprised that it has such a high rating but people have different views on this book I guess I almost put it down due to punctuation errors alone because a lot of the time you couldn't tell when they had finished talking or not because most of the time there were no end quotation marks. I just felt it was rushed and should have been looked over again.

So great. Wow. So much suspense, action, romance and drama.
The rescue of Reagan's Dad was epic. Not smart to put a fire element surrounded by Whiskey. Oberon got what he deserve and done by a woman too, Karma.
Alastair is really dumb, trying to frame Reagan and his sister.
Ending with Alastair is bloody because of him. But Karma got him. So hilarious too.
Reagan rocks.
Love the ending.

Dramatic Conclusion

Regan is in the Seelie Kingdom, seeking revenge and her kidnapped father, all while burning bright with her phoenix fire. Oisin, Cyrus and Finnan, her bodyguards and lovers, are there with her, along with a growing crew of allies. This story personified chaotic anarchy - there’s so much going on and so many characters and points of view, which keeps things interesting, if a bit confusing at the start. A fast-paced, fun read.

This was a bit of a slog

Things move very slowly and my attention was just not held by anything in this book except the promise of only 1 hour to go which I mostly skim read. I was expecting more from this story but since I wouldn’t have been able to force myself to read anymore I’m glad it’s the end. The book has plenty of great reviews i can’t even say what I didn’t like about this book except that it didn’t hold my attention in the slightest.

This took me forever to finish because it just wasn't that interesting. The plot meandered and most of it didn't even matter, but even when it did matter, I just... didn't care. None of the characters were fleshed out enough for me to care about. And even after three books, none of the men had a distinct voice, so I could never keep track of whose POV I was reading. I will probably not bother reading anything more from this author, which is a shame because this idea had a lot of promise.

Reagan, Finnan, Cyrus and Oisin have to battle Alastair and his minions to rescue the Seelie court - and Reagan wants her revenge for what he did to her life - but can they survive his schemes? Wonderful characters that I have enjoyed watching their development over the series, with a brilliant story line!.

An exciting finish to the series. Villain is conquered, heroine is awesome and kick @ss, and her men are enticing and lovable. There’s plenty of action and drama plus a heaping serving of steamy romance. I’m sorry to see the end of this series. It was fun and exciting to read right from the first book. Definitely recommend.

The third and final book in the Monsters Under My Bed series, what an ending. Reagan and her men will go through so much especially Finnan. Great Ending

I really liked this series. I am not so much into RH anymore, I like paranormal action and adventure, which this series had up the wazoo. I just skimmed through the sex and loved, loved the action and suspense. I do not mind sex and bad words, it is real life. I just wanted to get to the action faster.

I couldn't read past page 20. There were so many characters introduced in those first few pages but no explanation as to how they were. Mix that with events that weren't given any build up or context that it was exhausting trying to get my head around it all and failed miserably.
Definitely not a book for me

Awesome 👍 ending

I loved this series it was so good. This had a great ending. I think I would've liked to know more about her life in the unseelie realm but I get that it had to end like it did. Totally worth the read love the monsters.

Perfect ending

Loved every sentence of this final book in the series , more monsters than you could swing a stick at & all the loose ends nicely tied up or burnt to ash depending on how evil they were .Every fairy story needs a happy ending & thiamine was happy all round .

Love this series!
Just when you think you are invincible. Well, that might have been the case, but not anymore for Raven. It takes the love of her three guardians and allies in unlikely places to bring off the end of this series. Very enjoyable read.
