‘Sari-sari’ stores posted over P8B in sales in 2023

Good morning. An inconvenienced tycoon was the talk of the town last week as powerful, political players entered an already complicated land dispute. Similarly, all eyes are on Naia as a private partner is expected to be named following an extensive selection process.

Ayala Land has earmarked P13 billion for the renovation of four of its malls. The large undertaking is further proof that retail has indeed bounced back from the pandemic, as have the neighborhood 'sari-sari' stores that raked in over P8 billion in sales last year.

It's official: the DBP-Landbank merger is no more. With the final word given by Finance Secretary Ralph Recto himself, the two government banks must now face a new beginning following their respective charters. Speaking of charters, GCash has set a new one. Last Saturday, GCash announced that it has received regulatory approval to operate in 10 more countries.

Sari sari stores are the traditional version of influencers/ affiliate marketers wherein brands are advertised altogether in one platform( in this case, sold in a store) in a broader scale (neighbor communities. There are at least 2 sari sari stores in one barangay!). Puregold is the retailer that pretty much championed in this business format, apart from the FMCG brands!
