Derek Ramsay got all emotional after his son Austin called him "Dad" for the first time.
The precious moment was captured on video by Derek's good friend Din Gamallo and posted on the actor's Instagram account on Thursday, April 1, 2021.
In the two-minute video, Derek is seen hugging his son in the lanai area of his Alabang home and wiping tears after hearing Austin call him "Dad."
Derek writes this caption in his post, "He called me Dad!!
"Thank you Lord for showering me with your love and blessings! @din_g thank you for capturing this moment.
"I will always remember this special day. I can truly sa my life is perfect now. love you @austinn_ramsay"

Austin, who is turning 18 on June 28, 2021, grew up in Dubai with his mom Mary Christine Jolly. He moved in with Derek in 2017 when he was 14 years old.
In his previous interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Derek said as what he's always been to his parents, he is also a buddy to his son Austin.
"I'm the same way my parents are. My parents treat me and I treat them as my best friends. I always said na my dad is my best friend and my mom is my protector.
"And they brought me up in a way if I have a problem or if there's anything on my mind, I run to them.
"I feel comfortable running to them. And that's how I bring up Austin. I treat him like my buddy, my best friend."
Although he is not a stern disciplinarian, still as a father, Derek has to draw the line somewhere.
He said, "At the same time, I lay the rules down. I'm not a strict father but there are certain rules that he has to follow."
