In a perfect world, every spa experience would be a full day-long affair with facials, wraps, massages, and nail treatments galore. The reality, though, is that most of us are only treating ourselves to a single treatment a couple of times per year, at most. That means that every moment at the spa is precious, and making the most out of your time is essential.

That’s why we’ve compiled this list of eight Philly-area hotels, day spas, and relaxation spots where you can maximize your experience — without spending a ton of extra money.

Away Spa at the W Philadelphia

1439 Chestnut Street, Center City

Where the lobby and bar of the newly opened W Hotel are moody and sexy, the upstairs Away Spa is bright and airy. Book any treatment and you’ll gain access to the hotel’s all-season heated pool where you can set up shop before or after your treatment. There’s food and beverage service on the WET Deck as well, so take advantage of the bar program or have lunch to make an afternoon out of a single spa service.

Eviama Life

109 South 13th Street, Midtown Village

Eviama Life has a ton of spa services so you can tailor your experience to whatever’s ailing you at the moment. They’ve got pre- and post-natal massages, facials and wraps for skincare, waxing, and issue-specific bodywork — think tech-neck and tight hips. To get the most out of your time there, opt for one of their Ensembles, which package multiple treatments together so you can recover from endless hours at your desk, refresh your skin, or get totally relaxed with the help of CBD — without needing to book multiple appointments.

Formation Sauna + Wellness

305 Brown Street, Northern Liberties

If true relaxation is synonymous with alone time for you, Formation’s massage and sauna package might be just the thing you need to achieve optimal self-care. You’ll get a 60-minute bodywork session, followed by a full hour of sauna use all to yourself for less than the cost of booking either treatment individually. Group rates are also available if you’d rather spend the sauna time catching up with your bestie or getting in some quality time with your partner. To make a full day out of it, schedule your services before one of Formation’s self-care workshops, which are typically held in the evening.

Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia

1 North 19th Street, Logan Square

Arrive early to your appointment at the Four Seasons Spa and you’ll be shown to their luxurious, calming dressing room where you can rinse off the day in one of their spacious, three-head shower stalls and change into a super plush bathrobe. After your service, you’ll be shown to the spa’s relaxation lounge, where you can sip champagne or warm chai tea and nibble a snack in an anti-gravity chair overlooking the hotel’s unmatched view of the city for as long as you please. (Trust us, you won’t want to leave.) If you’re not ready to descend 57 floors to the outside world, head to the 60th floor to enjoy elevated drinks and small bites at JG SkyHigh.

Joseph Anthony Spa & Salon

1200 Market Street, 5th floor (inside the Loews Hotel) and 400 West Sproul Road, Springfield

The East Market and Springfield locations of Joseph Anthony Spa & Salon are home to Turkish Baths, where guests are scrubbed and massaged into relaxation by an attendant before being left to enjoy the steam and light therapy of the spa room. Once you emerge, you can enjoy the sauna, steam room, and brine room (where you’ll receive light therapy and a cooling mist) for as long as you like. (Note: Their Glen Mills location does not have a Turkish Bath.)

Nurture Spa

31 West Ferry Street, New Hope

At Nurture Spa in New Hope, you can get pretty much any treatment you can imagine — massage, facial, body wrap, waxing, lash extensions, mani and pedi, and more! While Nurture Spa doesn’t offer combo packages, we recommend pairing their 30-minute Quick Fix massage ($70) with another service of your choice if you’re looking for a two-in-one kind of day. After, spend some time unwinding with a good book on their rooftop terrace or indulge in a little retail therapy in their on-site shop.

The Body Serene Day Spa & Salon

4007 West Skippack Pike, Skippack

Sometimes you just need to go all out. For those occasions, book one of The Body Serene’s Day At the Spa packages, which give you a discounted rate for bundling a massage, facial, nail treatment, and other services for a full-body refresh.

The Rittenhouse Spa & Club

210 West Rittenhouse Square, Rittenhouse (inside The Rittenhouse Hotel)

It’s easy to lose track of time at the Rittenhouse Spa & Club, where guests have access to the fitness center (peep that Peloton), the sauna, steam room, an outdoor sun deck where you can get a little vitamin D before your treatment, and an indoor saltwater pool that you’ll want to float in all day. Pack your workout gear and a swimsuit and make a day of it.
