Before she ever decided that she wanted to storm the worldโs runways, Asiana Doesnt was already born with one foot in the modeling industryย as the daughter of supermodel-turned-actress Wilma Doesnt.ย One might argue that the skills she possesses are in her genes, but Asiana is out to prove that her success doesnโt solely rely on her lineageโand now the 21-year-old is steadily making her presence known in the local scene.ย

How did you get your start in the modeling industry? Tell us the story of how you got โdiscovered.โ
"Since I was young, people have been telling me to get into the modeling industry. The doors were always open, butย I chose to ignore them for 16 years. I did not get discovered, I just [took] a wonderful opportunity!"
"My mom never forced me into modeling. In actuality, she was afraid that people would compare me to her and that I'd be a mere shadow to her. I do not feel any pressure even if my momโs a supermodel, but Iย [do get]ย nervous when she watches my shows! I want to be at my best and to show her how far I can go."
What do you love the most about being a model? Would you say being a model is your dream job?
"In other people's perspectives, modeling may seem easyโdressing up, looking pretty, walking on your tip-toes. But in reality, it's a challenge. I love a 'juicy' challenge, though, [whether it would involve] wearing clothing [that's too big or too little], [being in] hours of rehearsals, [or having] early call times."
"Modeling is not my dream job. I want to become a lawyer, but why [can't I be both if I can, right?] I am currently taking my pre-law and I prioritize my studiesย over modeling. But if there is free time, Iโd run to the nearest casting there is!"
What was the biggest struggle youโve faced in the modeling industry?
"I still don't have too much experience in the industry to say that I have gone through my 'biggest struggle' yet. But a struggle for me is accepting rejection. Iโm still learning. There were times when I didn't get called back from jobs, when there were last-minute changes in shoots, or when [events had to cut costs, leading me] to lose the gig."
"When these things happen,ย [I end up thinking that I'm not] good enough. There will always be good and bad days in modeling, and it's normal. The best thing I can do is to learn and accept it, be a champ, and move on to the next one with more passion and grace."
What would you say is the most memorable project youโve done as a model so far?
"I would have to say Bench Fashion Week 2022. It was my first big show! I didnโt know anyone yet back then. It was scary but exciting. I met so many new friends, such as fellow models, production people, tech staff, and the like! The first times are always the ones I treasure most because they're the memoriesย I'd look back on to see how far I have gone and how big I have grown."
How do you see your career progressing in the future? Do you have a dream modeling gig?
"I can't tell, but with the help of friends and connections I have made along the way, I can make a guess that Iโll prosper and grow! A dream modeling gig of mine is to walk for fashion weeks all around the world. I want to represent the country and prove to the rest of the world that Filipinos are beautiful."
Whatโs your go-to model-off-duty look?
"I wear whatever makes me feel comfy. A bikini, most of the time? When I'm in off-duty mode, I wear what I feel like wearing, which, most of the time,ย is denim. I think the color matches my skin tone very well and I can wear it anywhere, to school, in our restaurant, when going out, and more."
In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a great model?
"Professionalism, confidence, kindness, and humility. A great model is someone who can wear anything and walk with great class and elegance on stage. They're alsoย nice and funny off-stage, just like my mom."
Whatโs your message for people who want to get into modelling?
"Do not ever let fear, doubt, or nervousness get into your head. Go to the casting and do your best. Keep your chin up, wear the proper casting clothes, bring set cards, and show everyone what youโve got!"
