YUTIEN Andrada is facing the possibility of missing the coming UAAP season after suffering an injury during De La Salle’s match against Lyceum on Friday in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup.
Andrada, the veteran center known for his blocking and rebounding presence for La Salle, suffered an injury in the early goings of the Green Archers’ 70-64 win over the Pirates.
A source from the team told Spin.ph that the initial prognosis is that Andrada has suffered another ACL tear, which will normally take six months to heal.
The lanky Andrada had missed parts of the 2011 season after incurring an ACL tear on his right knee.
Andrada averaged 6.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and a team-best 1.8 blocks at center last year in his first season back from the previous ACL injury.
