Ingredients
Lemon Bistek Tagalog Ingredients
- 1/2 kilogram breakfast steak cut of beef
- 1/2 Cup water
- 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
- 1 lemon juiced (about 2 tablespoons)
- 2 Small red onions peeled, sliced into rings
- ground black pepper to taste
- Oil fro frying
Instructions
- In a saute pan over medium-high heat, heat enough oil to cover the bottom. Add thinly sliced beef, a few thin slices at a time, and cook until just cooked through then immediately remove from the oil. Set aside. Repeat in batches until all the beef are cooked through. Set aside.
- In the same pan, pour in water, soy sauce, lemon juice, and ground black pepper to deglaze the pan. Bring to a quick boil, then lower heat to a simmer. Once simmering, return the beef and add onions to the pan and cook until just heated through.
- Serve while hot with lots of steamed rice.
