A candid chat with Roshmitha Harimurthy, Miss India Bangalore 2016
Roshmitha Harimurthy, is newly crowned fbb Femina Miss India Bangalore 2016. This vivacious and confident young girl from Bangalore will now get a direct entry to the fbb Femina Miss India 2016 finale. And while she is busy preparing for the big contest, she took out some time from her busy schedule and spoke to us about life after winning the coveted title.

Q. You have sailed through the state pageant competition by winning the title Miss Bangalore 2016 and have successfully made your way into the main pageant as a finalist. What is your current state of mind?

A. I feel blessed to have been bestowed with the honor of representing the women of Bangalore, India. This only fuels my fire to work harder and exhibit the qualities inherent in Indian women.

Q. What was your reason behind taking part in the Miss India contest? Did anyone inspire you or did you always want to be a Miss India?

A. My inspiration to be Miss India is firmly grounded on my desire to invoke change in youth. I see it as the ideal platform for my voice to reach the youth.

Q. Was your family supportive of your decision to participate in the Miss India contest?

A. Yes, it was my mom who encouraged me the most and always wanted to see me winning maximum number of beauty pageants. My parents stood by me at my lowest points too and that is what spurred me on.

Q. Who is your favourite Miss India till date? And why?

A. There are two actually. Aishwarya Rai, because of her immense beauty and Priyanka Chopra because of her lovely body and confidence. I love the way she carries herself.

Q. Tell us what sets you apart?

A. I believe what sets me apart is that I am very optimistic and adaptive. For e.g., most of the girls were complaining and were dull because of the hectic schedule during the state pageant. But I was able to stay positive and energetic throughout the pageant.

Q. You look absolutely fit and beautiful, and many people would like to know how you keep so fit. Please share your fitness regime and diet secrets with us.

A. Thank you. But I do not follow a strict diet nor do I restrict myself too much from eating but yes, I do maintain a balance. I exercise every alternate day and to add more fun I go for Bolly Aerobics where we dance on Bollywood songs for one whole hour.

Q. Any special winning strategy/success mantra?

A. Be yourself, enrich yourself with knowledge and be aware about almost everything that’s happening around through reading and this will help you throughout as the pageant does not only demand a beautiful body but a beauty with brains. Put in your best, be humble because all that they are looking for is beauty in and out.

Q. Any subtitle contests that you are confident of winning in the main pageant?

A. I wouldn't predict much but yes, I look forward to win Miss perfect body and also the perfect skin sub contest.

Q. What advice would you give your city girls who are aspiring beauty queens?

A. Feel beautiful within and it will reflect on the outside. Keep your mind stable, be patient and soon the world will be a better place to live in.

Q. What do you like the most about yourself?

A. I like my optimism the most and that I am very positive. I always search for the best that's happening even in the worst times.

Q. What are your hopes and aspirations for the future?

A. I look forward to win Miss India and then Miss World. I so want that blue crown. In the future, I wish to work as a well wishing entrepreneur in the United States.

Q. Any specific quote you would like to share?

A. Yes, I would like to end this interview with a quote that recently crossed my mind. I do not remember the name of the person who said it, but it will always remain close to my heart.

" You cannot go back and start with a new beginning but you can start today and work for a new ending."
