The child will be her first with musician husband Jonathan Powell, who she married in a secret ceremony in October 2017 three months after she announced the couple had suffered a miscarriage.

Charlotte told fans on Twitter on Sunday that she is not taking any chances with her health, after pulling out of charity concert to raise money for flood victims in Wales.

Charlotte tweeted: 'Gutted to have missed it. I'm preggers so I'm airing on the side of caution in terms of virus. It looks like it was a great success. X'.

In June 2017, Charlotte and Jonathan faced tragedy when she sadly suffered a miscarriage.

A statement posted to her Twitter account at the time read: 'Charlotte and Jonny are very sad to announce that they lost their baby. Now is a time for grieving and being together as a family. We kindly ask everyone to respect that peace.'

The star had announced she was pregnant with her third child as she performed on stage at Birmingham Pride in late May of that year.

And the 'Call My Name' hitmaker previously admitted she had wanted another child for some time because she had really enjoyed being pregnant.

She said: 'I love the whole process of pregnancy and birth. 10 minutes after I had Ruby, I thought, 'F***ing loved that, I'll do it again.' Lush. Two home births, gorgeous.'

Charlotte wed Jonathan at a registry office in Cardiff with just a handful of guests before throwing a special ceremony in the garden of their home, seven years after they first started dating.

'They wanted to keep things low key and swore all the guests to secrecy as they married under a tree.

'Jonathan has been a great influence on Charlotte, she has calmed down a lot since she met him.'

In a rare candid interview about her family in 2017, the star revealed she hadn't 'ruled out' having more children.

The pair are also running a non fee-paying school to educate children aged between nine and 12, which Charlotte regularly promotes on social media.

Charlotte earlier pledged the school would have pupils from 'all walks of life'.

She said: 'Since I've had kids I have become much more interested in education and child development.

'We started looking at schools and different mainstream options available to us.

'It started to become apparent that mainstream is struggling with underfunding and overcrowding - teachers are incredibly tested.'
