Senior Art Director of TBWA-Santiago Mangada Puno
CJ De Silva-Ong is most prominently recognized as "The Promil Kid". Painting is a talent she has been honing since she was five years old. Impressively, she never took a formal painting class, but was guided under the careful tutelage of her father, an artist by heart.
CJ had her first solo exhibit at The Ayala Museum in November 1998, and her second solo exhibit the year after. Her next solo exhibit was in 2003, at the Philam Life Theater Lobby. Throughout the years, she has gained a number of loyal buyers for her exquisite art pieces.
She attended the College of Fine Arts in the University of the Philippines, Diliman. During the course of her study, she explored graphic design, illustration and digital design. Upon graduation, she worked as an Art Director in TBWA/Santiago Mangada Puno, one of the top creative advertising agencies in Manila.
Teacher, 2009 CNN Hero of the Year
Efren Geronimo Penaflorida Jr. is a teacher by profession and an advocate of education for disadvantaged children in the Philippines. He is the founder and head of the Dynamic Teen Company, which offers Filipino youth an alternative to street gangs through education, recreating school settings in unconventional locations such as cemeteries and trash dumps.
Efren grew up in an urban slum in Cavite, but received financial support and assistance from Club 8586 Inc. to continue his education. He graduated from San Sebastian College-Recoletos de Cavite, receiving highest honors for his Computer Technology degree. He also graduated cum laude upon taking a second course of Secondary Education at Cavite State University.
In 2009, Efren was chosen out of 9,000 nominees from over 100 countries, to be named as the "CNN Hero of the Year" as part of his extraordinary contributions to help others.
PLDT-Smart Foundation, Inc. President
Ma. Esther O. Santos is the President of PLDT-Smart Foundation, Inc. She has previously worked as the Philippine Delegate/Country Manager of Fundacion CODESPA (A Spanish NGO) which words with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and EU. Throughout the years, she has been a consultant for Fund Developments, Project Management, and various foundations.
She graduated Bachelor of Arts in Economics at UP-Diliman and also received her Masters degree in Development Economics from the same university. She studied in Barcelona, Spain at IESE Business School, graduating with a degree in Advanced Management Program.
Esther is a trustee at League of Corporate Foundations, ASA Microfinance Philippines and Radio Veritas. She is also the Designate Representative of Philippine Chair at Caritas Manila and also a member of Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation Inc, and World Economic Forum-Global Agenda Council.
Senior Vice President and Executive Director of BPI Foundation, Inc.
Fidelina “Faye” Adan-Corcuera is the Senior Vice President and Executive Director of BPI Foundation, Inc.
She has some 30 years of experience in the human resources profession gained from multi-industries and various international and multinational organizations. Her personal advocacy for education is manifested in her work as a founding member of the Organizational Development Network of the Philippines (ODPN) and the HR-IT Forum – professional networks with the main objective of professionalization through education. She also actively served as a Director for 3 terms for the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) and is the current President of the Bank’s Council of People Managers for the Bankers Association of the Philippines.
Under her leadership, BPI was awarded several accolades in recognition of the innovative people management practices of the bank. In 2012, the world-class BPI-Harvard LEAP, an organizational effectiveness and leadership development program was awarded the PMAP People Program of the Year for its impact on culture development and strategy alignment. In 2013, BPI received the much-coveted Kapatiran sa Industriya (KAPATID) award given by the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) for excellence in people programs, strategy alignment, productivity, labor relations, and corporate social responsibility. Faye was also the recipient of the prestigious 2013 People Manager of the Year award given by PMAP.
Faye holds a Bachelor degree in Psychology and a Masters in Education degree, with academic distinction, from the University of the Philippines, and graduated from the Advanced Management Program from the Harvard Business School in the Fall of 2013.
Katy Wu was born and raised in Los Angeles, California in the USA. As a child she always loved drawing and continued to draw when she grew up. After high school, she went to Art Center College of Design to learn more about art and interned at Pixar as a student. For her first job she worked on Coraline (2009) at Laika, then went on to work at Pixar for 3 years as a sketch artist, and CinderBiter as assistant art director for 2 years. Currently she works at Google as a Doodler and has a lot of fun coming up with fun and creative ideas for Doodles!
