New report suggests iPhone will get OLED displays in 2017

Apple could be putting OLED panels on the iPhone as early as 2017 on the iPhone 7S, reports say.

    Any informed person knows that Amoleds became exceptionally colour accurate starting with the Galaxy Alpha...but of course watch the comments section buzz with belends talking about color reproduction and burn in

      lets just hope if samsung will get the contract they will not undermine the performance of the screen, just like what they did with the processor of the 6s compared to TSMC processor

        BTW as always Apple joins the world belated. Ever since Jobs died this company either join the rest late or introduce bad features that have bad influence to others (giant chins in androids due to the fingerprint sensor, the death of app drawer).

        I used to look up to Apple... sad that they became what Jobs hated, another IBM...

            True that amoled is of better quality than IPS LCD sometimes.
            But Amoleds consume 3 times more power when they display white color on the display.
            In displaying black amoled consume 60-70% the power usage of LCD.
            So since the most used color on Android and iOS is white.the battery life would be slightly low.

              Hopefully they don't have the same over saturated colors or blue tinge of Samsung phones.
